3D Visualization Specialist

Hi! my name, is Donna Snyder, I have been a graphic artist the last 22 years. I started working in a small firm in 1999 where we did visualizations for local builders. We produced deliverables that our clients could use in flyers or brochures to sell their homes to their potential home buyers. Websites were not really being used for promotion and social media didn’t even exist yet.

In 2003 I was hired by a large luxury home builder, and I spent the next 16 years in a fast-paced digital artwork group providing static images. These images were used by the marketing division for use on their website as well as print for customer-facing brochures. During my extensive time with this luxury home builder, I honed my skills as an artist as well expanding my experience with many different housing types and options. The technical aspects of these options became second nature to me, and I was able to point out discrepancies overlooked by the designers which enabled them to re-design a home before ever being built.

I spearheaded many multi-family housing projects from as small as 2 and 3 units to much larger 14-to-18-unit condominiums. I created visualizations that included custom landscaping or hardscaping the community wanted to show case to the customers. Many of my co-workers shied away for these large projects which I happily undertook. I used tools inside of our 3D program to help organize each unit so they could be easily selected and used in other projects with very little effort and making it unnecessary to continually rebuilding units.

The special projects I was assigned to work on included clubhouses with many amenities the community offered to homeowners. These amenities included swimming pools, spas, pool house buildings, fitness centers, playgrounds as well as pavilions and outside living areas. Some of these projects involved having people represented in these projects to bring a feeling of life and living in this community. The most impressive clubhouses were always the night shots with dramatic interior, exterior and landscape lighting which really made that piece of artwork pop!

Creating 3D assets was something all artists were required to undertake. Since I didn’t have formal schooling, I learned modeling skills on the job. I had been given the opportunity to create needed assets to a common library. It was paramount to follow a specific naming convention as well as a well-organized library, giving clarity to any artist needing to find and use a particular asset.

Regardless of the projects I was involved with, attention to detail is always in the forefront for any project that I undertake, as well as brining a project to its completion in a timely manner.
